WHY BUY FROM A BIG-BOX STORE?

You will be sorry if you do !

Why purchase an item as important as an AC power generator from Lowes or Home Depot? These stores have no idea what to sell you. They simply guess.

When the unit arrives you are on your own. It will be up to you to find a licensed electrical company to come to your home. The electrician must then pull a permit. Drawings must be "certified" showing all of the wiring, generator location, & equipment specifications. If you have an HOA, drawings & surveys must be presented to them as well. Most electrical services companies, ( like Mr. Sparky) charge $50 or more to come to your home, just to give you an estimate!

You must also contact a propane or a natural gas supplier to come to your home. The propane/gas supplier must also pull a permit & supply drawings & specifications to HOA & county building department.

Normally, a 500 gallon propane tank is buried somewhere in your yard. Or, above ground 120 gallon propane tanks are installed by the licensed gas company. The gas company must then connect the gas line to your generator.

Please know that a standby generator consumes 3 to 4 gallons of fuel PER HOUR. This means that 500 gallons of propane is consumed in a bit more than 5 days.
